Synopses of court judgments - Analyses of court judgments - Assistance with
the creation of legal databases Groups of our lawyers
work to produce synopses - according to the particular requirements of individual
clients - of judgments of courts and tribunals of first instance and of appellate
courts. These synopses can then be accessed, on-line, by any of our clients' customers
around the world - whenever they wish to make a preliminary check of whether a
particular case may be relevant to an issue or set of circumstances which he or
she is researching. We also assist our clients with analysis
of court judgments, and with the creation of searchable databases of information
extracted from court judgments. Where we assist with the creation of databases,
to ensure that we offer best value for our clients, we work with other offshore
and outsourced service providers to ensure that lawyers are not used to abstract
or capture data which does not require the skills of a lawyer. For
legal publishers, this means that keen pricing can be offered: and for our lawyers,
it means that they are neither asked nor required to work on non-legal tasks.
Publishing is undergoing significant change, as students and professionals increasingly
embrace on-line study, on-line research, document assembly, blogging and other
web-based activities. The leather-bound books in the library
may remain, meantime - but we welcome the challenge of working with our clients
in this area to create innovative and exciting products for the legal market.
